Back when wearing a mask wasn’t a thing 💭 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This is a still from a video shot in 2016 by @annabeth_rodgers_faucher for @springst ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I am now in a different workspace on another continent and focusing almost exclusively on reclaimed waste materials, but the process and values remain the same. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ My curiosity and love of experimentation still drive the boat, with materials and new techniques often the starting point of a project. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Sustainability has been a key factor in all decisions in building Avandi, from material choices (originally: long lasting materials, now: reclaimed + long lasting materials) to packaging and logistics. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Honesty and ethics make the third pillar. Back when I started, most of my production was made in the US because that’s where I was designing and (mostly) selling them. Love this photo of the the postcards my friend @marine.visart designed as part of Avandi’s rebranding last year. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Branding isn’t about making the band look pretty, but about getting the message across. Telling the story and communicating the values through different support. It started with a larger conversation in collaboration with @bene_claire to verbalize all of it. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ When it came to the postcards, the thinking went all the way to the feel of the paper and the selection of an independent printer with great ethics and equipment @clickclickgraphics. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 📷 @lesmarquisettes
